Cosmetic Botox

Dr. Carrasco serves as the Medical Director of this very specialized clinic and has performed Botox procedures for over 10 years. He has extensive experience with the use of Botox and lectures nationally and internationally on the use of Botox for the management of pain, spasticity and Cosmetic procedures. To further enhance your experience your aesthetic procedure will be performed in our warm, beautiful Hacienda-styled Spa.

How does Botox work?

Botox blocks impulses from the nerve to the facial muscles that are related to facial expression.  Botox relaxes the muscles, therefore, the overlying skin remains smooth and unworkable; while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

How long will it last?

The effects of the Botox may last five to six months.  Some patients may request a repeat enhancement once a year.  Early clinical studies show the duration of treatment benefits may increase over time; so you may require injections less frequently in the future.

What can I expect?

The procedure will be performed following a short consultation.  Dr. Carrasco will discuss with you the areas to be injected.  In a sterile fashion Dr. Carrasco will inject the areas with a tiny needle.  There is minimal to no pain noted with the procedure.  Following the procedure, you may return to your normal activities.  Some people develop a slight amount of bruising which may be covered up with make-up.  You will notice results within 48-72 hours.  You will continue to see some gradual improvement of the wrinkles over the next two to three weeks.  We will request that you follow up in approximately two weeks to evaluate the results of the procedure.

Are There Any Side Effects?

It is possible for the medication to migrate and cause temporary weakness of nearby muscles.  In rare cases, there may be drooping of an eyelid or asymmetry of facial expression.  The effects of Botox are reversible, therefore, any side effects are temporary.  Side effects are rare.
